Join Our Team: Embrace the Power of Neurodiversity as a Specialist Practitioner and Shape Inclusive Futures
We are seeking an enthusiastic practitioner who has previously established skills and experience of working with children, young people and adults with social communication difficulties and/or a diagnosis ASC and ADHD. The Specialist Practitioner will be highly experienced in their knowledge of neurodiversity and standardised assessment tools. They will be a member of a multidisciplinary team and deliver assessment, interventions, support and advice.
The key aspects of the role are:
To have highly specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in the assessment and management of individuals relating to Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other neurodivergent conditions.
To provide highly specialist assessments to a caseload of individuals with possible neurodiverse conditions.
To administer, score, interpret and write up the ADOS and ADI-R/3Di assessment.
To provide interventions to individuals and families with possible neurodiverse conditions.
To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self governance in accordance with relevant professional codes of practice and Neurodiversity Unravelled policies and procedures
To demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills in order to deliver highly complex, sensitive information through verbal discussion and via high level professional reports. To comply with Neurodiversity Unravelled safeguarding procedures at all times and to liaise with Safeguarding Leads as required should concerns arise during clinical practice.
To contribute to high level multi-disciplinary team discussions to assist with formulating diagnoses and consideration of differential diagnoses.
To take the role of case manager in order to confidently communicate diagnosis and feedback assessment findings and post diagnosis care plan to individuals, parents, carers and other professionals.
To communicate complex, sensitive and potentially distressing information to individuals, families and a wide range of professional colleagues.
To assist in performing observations in school settings and complete write ups.
To provide specialist advice and training to other professionals, corporate organisations, parents, and carers regarding the care and support of neurodiverse people.
To ensure children, young people, adults and their families are involved in all aspects of the planning of care where possible.
To signpost and refer clients and / or their families to other sources of advice and intervention as appropriate and to liaise with other professionals involved with the family.
